Delta Biographies

Throughout the towns and hamlets of the Delta scores of person and places, often known in their own communities but not elsewhere, were locations, or either eye witnesses or direct participation in significant ways to the struggle for equality and democratization. Knowing where aspects of this struggle took place and the background stories underlying these events is essential for understanding the history of the region. DRCI is engaged in a project designed to identify such persons, interview and video tape their stories, and eventually organize them for dynamic website presentations that can inform students and the general public.
