Library News: COVID-19 update (1/08/2021)
As of February 1, 2021, the library will provide library services to MVSU faculty, staff, and students in-person daily. If you chose to use the library in-person, you must always wear a face mask. Additionally, we will practice social distancing once you enter the building.
Hours of Operation (Until Further Notice)
Mondays - Thursdays: 7:30am - 8pm
Fridays: 7:30am - 4pm
Sundays: 1:00pm - 8:00pm

Regarding our facilities, we have been working hard to ensure all surfaces and equipment have been thoroughly cleaned, and we are providing hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes at the service desks and throughout the Library. Please do not hesitate to reach out to our librarians and library staff if you need assistance.
The status of library services is subject to change pending: University protocol, health, and safety guidelines. Not all services will be immediately operational at the onset of a new phase/transition. Status of all services will be posted in real-time on the library’s website.

Welcome to the James H. White Library
The library is named in honor of Mississippi Valley State University’s founding father and first president, Dr. James Herbert White.
The mission of the James H. White Library is to enhance access, collect, organize and maintain a print and non print collection that supports the university’s mission of research, teaching and learning, and service through the development of collections, access services and effective delivery of services.
The library has as its goals the following:
- To collect and provide access to print and non-print research materials
- To provide instruction in the use of traditional library collections and new technological information resources through an innovative user access education program
- To provide optimal efficient delivery
