Library News: COVID-19 update

The James H. White Library provides services, resources and collections that can assist faculty as they transition courses online as a result of COVID-19. As of March 24, 2020, the James H. White Library is open virtually from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Friday. If you need immediate assistance, please call (662) 254-3800.

Welcome to the James H. White Library

The library is named in honor of Mississippi Valley State University’s founding father and first president, Dr. James Herbert White.

The mission of the James H. White Library is to enhance access, collect, organize and maintain a print and non print collection that supports the university’s mission of research, teaching and learning, and service through the development of collections, access services and effective delivery of services.

The library has as its goals the following:

  • To collect and provide access to print and non-print research materials
  • To provide instruction in the use of traditional library collections and new technological information resources through an innovative user access education program
  • To provide optimal efficient delivery
