Over the years I have developed Reactive Hypoglycemia or Postprandial hypos from my Cystic fibrosis. CF doesn't just affect the lungs, it also affects the pancreas, and many people experience CF related diabetes. However, although I am not diabetic, I have developed Reactive Hypoglycemia which means that depending on what I eat, my blood glucose level will drop dramatically and it can be quite dangerous if not treated. These kinds basmati rice and blood sugar of hypos happen for a different reason compare to normal diabetes, which I explain about in the video. But basically my pancreas overeacts....which is classic Kate! Unfortunately there is nothing for reactive hypos, just constant awareness of what I'm eating. And this all comes down to the 'Glycemic Index'. I explain about this in the video too! I feel recently I'm developing a resistance blood sugar of 2000 to a lot of food with sugar in because I'm aware it could trigger a hypo, and I'm blood sugar levels after eating for diabetics worried that the more i trigger it the more likely it is I will fall into diabetes, which I'd rather not have!
