MVSU Chapter of the Association of Black Social Workers

The National Association of Black Social Workers (NABSW). Established in 1968, NABSW advocates addressing important social issues that affect the health and welfare of the Black community. The organization has many chapters throughout the United States and the Caribbean in addition to several affiliate groups in Africa.

The Association of Black Social Workers is a national organization that aims at forging professional unity and understanding of the need for cultural competency in providing social services, especially to black consumers. It also addresses the needs of other minority populations. MVSU's student chapter works in close cooperation with the national association.
