Praxis Information

Praxis is a series of educational assessment tests that states use as part of their teacher licensure and certification process. Praxis I measure basic academic skills, and Praxis II measures general and subject-specific knowledge and teaching skills.

Here at Mississippi Valley State University, we are committed to making sure our students are knowledgeable and prepared to achieve high scores on this test. We encourage students majoring in Elementary Education to test before the end of your sophomore year. Students who have not passed Praxis I will be restricted from enrolling in any 300 level courses. Students who scored 21 (18 in each sub score) on the ACT will be exempt from taking Praxis I.

Schedule an appointment today with Office of Praxis Test Preparatory Services to consult about the test. Also, please visit www.ets.org/praxis for additional information and FREE study materials.
