I started testing my blood sugar out of curiosity and then... my world turned upside down! Thank goodness I looked into this and uncovered what is really going on inside my body, especially since I've learned about the ill effects of hyper/hypoglycemia; blood sugars below 70mg/dl and above 180mg/dl. Having no symptoms from blood sugar swings is a blessing but also a curse. I'm happy that I can eat anything I dizzy and low blood sugar want without feeling sick but at the same time I don't want to harm my body with the foods I'm eating. With the help of the continuous glucose monitor on my arm, I'm able to monitor, control and avoid these swings from happening. Without the use of this device I would be in the dark. I would be clueless, would not know if my blood sugar was out of the normal ranges and I could have done irreversible harm to my body. There has never been long term studies on the stomachless and blood glucose. I feel this needs to happen! In the mean time, I have taken it upon my self to use my body as a guinea pig. I'm putting food to the test since with what are safe blood sugar levels my CGM, I'm able to see which foods are 'safe' foods, ones that won't cause harmful spikes and drops to my blood glucose.
