Mississippi Valley State University invites qualified candidates to apply for a full-time, tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities beginning academic year 2019-2020.
Job Description:
The qualified candidate will coordinate all choral activities; direct the large and small choral ensembles; teach Choral Conducting, Secondary Choral Methods, applied voice, and other courses as needed; Recruit; Maintain the prominence and profile of the choral and vocal program; Serve on department and university committees; Advise students; Oversee budgets, including administration of choral scholarships; Engage in scholarly activities
Required Qualifications:
Completed doctorate in music, ABD, or equivalent experience; three (3) years of proven teaching success in choral music; commitment to diversity; willingness to accommodate varying styles of music
