Courses - MS Social Work

The specific mission for the Master of Social Work Program at Mississippi Valley State University is to instill within students a form professional social work identity. The Program's graduates will be prepared to blend the knowledge, values and skills necessary for competent advanced practice and leadership roles in the field of Child and Family Welfare. We also prepare our graduates to further the knowledge base of social work practice through scholarly research, enhance their own skills through the use of "best practices" and advocate for a values-based profession. Consonant with the Purposes of Social Work Education (EP1.2) and the University's Mission Statements, graduates of the MSW Program will be able to generalize the use of social work knowledge, values and skills to the global community.
