ITTA BENA, Miss.—Mississippi Valley State University has released its “Safety in Motion” MVSU Fall 2020 Health and Safety Plan as a resource for students, faculty and staff as they prepare to begin the Fall 2020 semester.

The plan is a working document that details the University’s safety measures and policies in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. It includes information regarding how MVSU will manage its facilities, plans for academic continuity, move-in instructions for students & parents as well as other pertinent operations information.

“I’d like to thank all the members of the COVID-19 Campus Readiness Committee who dedicated many hours in developing this plan that will serve as a guide as we safely bring our students, faculty and staff back to campus this fall,” said MVSU President Dr. Jerryl Briggs, Sr.

In addition, the plan details steps that MVSU students, faculty and staff and visitors should take to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 on campus.

“As we move forward through these unprecedented times, we will continue to adjust and plan as we adhere to direction and guidance set forth by federal, state, and city officials,” said Briggs. “We also ask that our campus community continues to do their part, which includes wearing a mask, practicing good hygiene, and following social distancing guidelines.”

MVSU is set to begin its Fall 2020 semester on Aug. 17. Freshmen and Transfer students move-in will begin on Aug. 10 and move-in for returning students will begin Aug. 13.
