WIOA

WIOA is a program designed to help students finish school and find employment. Mississippi Valley State University is a training provider under WIOA and collaborates with the Mississippi WIN Job Center to assist students in applying for funding. 

 

APPLY IN THREE (3) STEPS

1. PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have taken and passed the Career Readiness Certificate (CRC) Assessment  (If you have not taken this assessment, please contact The CAPPS Center at 662-887-2876 or your local WIN Job Center to schedule your assessement to avoid any delays in services.)
  • Must be fully admitted to MVSU
  • Must be working on first Bachelor's Degree
  • Approaching or in the last three semesters of school
  • Must have at least a 2.0 GPA
  • Must be a resident of Mississippi

Special Notes

  • Students receiving full Pell Grant are not eligible for WIOA funds
  • Students residing outside of the Delta should contact their area WIN Job Center for funding availability
  • WIOA pays up to $2,000.00 for tuition and books

3. WIOA APPLICATION  Complete only if you have visited the WIN Job Center and scored 'bronze' on your  National Career Readiness Certification (NCRC).  Website to register to take the NCRC is www.msdelta.edu/capps
