Social Work to Host Cultural Fair and Symposium

The Social Work Department at Mississippi Valley State University will host its Cultural Fair and Symposium.  This event is set for Thursday, November 17 in the William Sutton Administration Building – Auditorium 103 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Social Work’s Methods of Social Work Practice III students are organizing the Symposium.

This year’s Symposium will feature African American, Italian, Chinese and Mexican cultures and cuisines. Dr. Vincent Venturini , visiting professor, will lead a presentation on Ethical Practice across Cultures when Working with Children along with Dr. William Fuller, assistant professor, who will give a presentation titled, The Latino Diaspora: Diversity among Latinos.

Social workers will receive three Continuing Education Units (CEU). One hour CEU credit will be in diversity and two hours in ethics.
