Kevin Webb is an accomplished music educator, band director, and graduate student with more than 33 years of experience in music education. He currently serves as the Interim Director of Bands at Mississippi Valley State University, where he provides leadership for the university’s band program and participates in numerous university athletic events.
Mr. Webb is a proud alumnus of Mississippi Valley State University, Class of 1994, where he earned his degree in Music Education. His professional journey has brought him back to the institution where he began his collegiate music education, allowing him to now serve his alma mater as Interim Director of Bands.
Mr. Webb has an extensive record of success in music education and competitive band performance. Throughout his career, the bands under his direction have earned Superior Ratings at the West Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association’s Concert Festival and Marching Band Assessments. These accomplishments reflect his commitment to musical excellence, disciplined instruction, effective rehearsal techniques, student development, and high performance standards.
Prior to returning to Mississippi Valley State University, Mr. Webb spent nearly three decades as a band director in Memphis-Shelby County Schools. During this time, he developed and directed successful concert and marching band programs while teaching students from diverse backgrounds and abilities. His teaching philosophy emphasizes musicianship, discipline, leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and personal growth.
Mr. Webb is continuing his academic and professional development by pursuing a Master’s degree in Music Education at Jackson State University. He is also pursuing graduate studies in Sport Administration at Mississippi Valley State University.

Adrian Thompson serves as Associate Director of Bands at Mississippi Valley State University and has worked in collegiate music education since 2015. His professional experience includes ensemble instruction, program administration, recruitment, field show design, and the development of student musicians and leaders. He is committed to advancing collegiate band programs through musical excellence, mentorship, and student-centered leadership.

Christopher Douglas serves as Assistant Director of Bands at Mississippi Valley State University, his alma mater. An accomplished music educator, conductor, and musician, Douglas holds a Bachelor of Music from MVSU and a Masters in Music Education from Jackson State University. His professional experience spans collegiate and secondary music education, performance, and marching band. As an alumnus returning to MVSU, Douglas is committed to advancing the university’s proud musical tradition through excellence in musicianship, leadership, discipline, and student development.
