Zelma T. Howard Lecture Series

The Department of English and Foreign Languages sponsors the Zelma T. Howard Lecture Series, named after the late Dr. Zelma T. Howard, retired Professor of English and Chair. The Lecture Series brings in 1 to 2 writers, story tellers, or musicians to give readings, lectures, workshops, and performances. Past visitors include Tyehimba Jess (poet/performer), Charles “Wsir” Johnson (musician), Tayari Jones (novelist), Dick Lourie (poet/musician), Jerry Ward (scholar), Claude Wilkinson (poet), Diane Williams (story-teller), Assad Skaff (scholar of Arabic from Lebanon).  Please click here to view pictures of guest presenters.(to follow)
