Valley Singers

Valley Singers is an auditioned mixed-voice chamber choir comprised of approximately 35 singers. The purpose of Valley Singers is to provide a platform for music majors to train to become teachers and instructors, and to perform a high standard of diverse chamber choir repertoire representing a variety of periods, languages, and styles including jazz and pop. Valley Singers also serves as a community outreach and recruiting tool for the university and performs approximately 12-15 times per year throughout Mississippi and the surrounding area.

Recent domestic tours brought Valley Singers to Boston in 2014 and Jacksonville, Florida in 2016. Other honors for Valley Singers include receiving an invitation to perform Beethoven’s Mass in C at Carnegie Hall and being voted Greenwood’s (MS) Favorite Musical Group by the readers of the Greenwood Commonwealth newspaper for the 2015 People’s Choice Awards. All students in Valley Singers receive a choir scholarship.
