Job Description:


Travel to high schools, churches, and other College Day/Night Programs as designated by the Director and by territory in order to recruit prospective students; conduct follow-up on recruitment contacts, assist in campus tours for prospective students; assist with answering and directing telephone calls; help counsel students who telephone or come to the office seeking specific information; assist in the planning and conducting of high school and community College Day and other functions regarding recruitment; prepare and keep records on all school visits, the number of applications received from the schools, and the number of accepted applicants; aid students with problems during registration; process new-freshman applicants, including the applications that you bring in and the mailed in applications, (according to the processing procedures) and key in data into the banner system; generate reports and files on first-time entering students; contact prospective incoming freshmen on a weekly basis to keep them informed of admissions status and to show concern for them in an effort to secure a commitment; assist with other office functions which would provide for the ongoing smooth operation of the office at the discretion of the director.   

Qualifications Required:

Bachelor’s degree is preferred; two years of work experience preferred; must have excellent interpersonal skills to be able to work and communicate effectively with a diverse university community and non-university community; ability to understand University procedures, curricular offerings, options, placement and job facts, and ability to relate information effectively to prospective students and families; ability to travel to secondary schools and community colleges.
