Job Description:
|
Teaches the basic reading and comprehension skills needed for success at the college level; manages the student's behavior so that the student learns to be self-regulated and independent learners; records daily attendance of students in Grades First; prepares various assessments to track the student's progress; conducts reading laboratories, lectures, and tutorial sessions; meets scheduled lab sessions and lectures; functions as a reading resource professional and assists in training laboratory assistants; assists in preparation and submission of reports and plans; administers exams, reading, study skills, and other related tests to provide a status of the student's progress; assists in the development and facilitation of a combination of workshops and seminars designed to provide students the skills necessary to excel academically; maintains office hours as required; performs all other relevant duties as assigned and/or as outlined in the Faculty Handbook. |

Qualifications Required: |
Master’s degree required in subject area - Reading, English, Communication or Education; previous experience in teaching, curriculum development and/or management; previous experience working with college level students and at-risk populations; must be able to work with students who may have learning difficulties but can succeed with supplemental support; knowledge of or experience compiling and assessing statistical data. |
