Job Description:

 

The successful candidate will teach traditional and non-traditional students on or off-campus worksites on week days or nights and/or Saturdays; teach eight (BSW or six (MSW) courses per academic year; utilize a variety of teaching strategies and present teaching materials in an understandable and effective manner, using related testing measurement that accurately reflect the stated course competencies; engage in committee assignments, research and or other scholarly and professional activities; participate in departmental, university, and community service; keep a minimum of ten office hours per week; advise students in appropriate course scheduling; assist advisees in defining and developing realistic goals in keeping with their abilities and interests; take an active role in recruitment and retention; maintain accurate and up-to-date student records pertaining to attendance, assignments and grades; maintain effective collegial communication, professional interaction, and functional relations within the University and academic department and the on and off campus

 

Qualifications Required :

A Ph.D. in Social Work and two years of post MSW social work practice experience and 20 semester hours of graduate work in a teaching field beyond the Master’s degree; must be committed to quality-teaching and promoting a collaborative teaching-learning environment, productive scholarly and or creative achievement, an interest in meeting the needs of rural communities, and the ability to cooperate with others for the good of the department and University
