Welcome to the Office of Sponsored Programs

The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) was established to provide grant writing services to the university faculty and staff and to serve as the liaison between the university and external funding agencies. One of the goals of this office is to generate adequate external funding for the university’s operations by working closely with faculty and staff on writing grants and pulling grant writing teams together. Mississippi Valley State University promotes the acquisition of external funding for instruction, public service and research because these endeavors are seen as a means to promote institutional vitality.

Though it is the responsibility of individual faculty and staff members to seek and write grants, the role of OSP in coordinating and facilitation the process cannot be over over-emphasized.  The Office of Sponsored Programs ensures that faculty and staff members who are interested in writing grants obtain needed information on available grants, receive relevant training on grantsmanship and ensure the smooth operation of the whole grant-writing process as well as make available to those grant writers the university’s policies and regulations on external funding.
