Organizational Management Program

WHAT IS THE BS in Business Administration with ORGANIZATIONAL MANAGEMENT concentration?

Organizational Management is a nontraditional program serving adults ages 23and older with a minimum of two years of work experience. These are adults who have already completed approximately two or more years of college or its equivalent with a cumulative 2.0 GPA or better, and who now would like to complete their Bachelor’s Degree.


Adult learners typically are employed full-time during the day; thus all of the program’s sixteen (16) core courses (48 semester hours) are offered online. Four(4) core courses are offered sequentially in the Fall and Spring semester. Each class’ duration is five (5) weeks. Core courses are also offered in the Summer. The convenience of the program provides the learner with the opportunity to earn 48semester hours of credit within 24 months period. Classes are taught in a manner that is conducive to learning for adults. An atmosphere of shared family, career, and age interests develops a strong bond among learners.

Adult learners who succeed in Organizational Management are self-directed and goal-oriented individuals. This program will enable adult learners to develop:
•interpersonal skills
•written and oral communication skills
•problem-solving and decision-making skills
•understanding of research techniques and applications
•self-knowledge and self-image growth
•self-reliance and leadership skills


ACADEMIC CALENDAR
The OM program operates on a semester hour basis with two groups of adult learners beginning each semester in August and January.  Each group takes less than two years (24months) to complete the program and operates on a year-round basis. Cohorts are given a definite schedule.

ORGANIZATIONAL MANAGEMENT
To earn the Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Organizational Management, each adult learner must achieve the following:

· Complete the program coursework in Organizational Management.

· Pay all fees and tuition charges.

· Accumulate 120semester credits that are officially accepted by Mississippi Valley State University.

· have a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 (4.0 scale) or above in the 120 credits comprising the complete degree program.

· Meet all general education requirements, which consist of completing the courses listed on the Curriculum Pattern approved by the OMP Coordinator.
