Renaissance Learning Program
WHAT IS THE RENAISSANCE LEARNING PROGRAM IN ORGANIZATIONAL MANAGEMENT?
Organizational Management is a nontraditional program serving adults ages 23 and older with a minimum of two years work experience. These are adults who have already completed approximately two or more years of college or its equivalent with a cumulative 2.0 GPA or better, and who now would like to complete their Bachelor’s Degree.
RLP adult learners typically are employed full-time during the day; thus the program is offered in the evening and online. During each module (class) learners will meet one evening for four hours during each week or alternatively, meet during the first week with the balance of the entire course conducted online. This pattern continues over an eighteen-month period and provides the learner with the opportunity to earn 45 semester hours of credit in class. Classes are taught in a manner that is conducive to learning for adults. An atmosphere of shared family, career, and age interests develops a strong bond among learners.
While in the Renaissance Learning Programs, adult learners are expected to spend 15-20 hours in preparation for each week of class. Adult learners who succeed in Organizational Management are self-directed and goal-oriented individuals.
The RLP in Organizational Management enables adult learners to develop:
•written and oral communication skills
•problem-solving and decision-making skills
•understanding of research techniques and applications
•self-knowledge and self-image growth
•self-reliance and leadership skills
The RLP operates on a semester hour basis with five to six groups of adult learners beginning each year, typically in August - November and February - May. each group takes approximately eighteen months to complete the program and operates on a year-round basis. Cohorts are given a definite schedule that indicates on which dates the group will meet over the eighteen-month period of enrollment.
