FEDERAL WORK STUDY/COLLEGE WORK AID
Students who have been awarded and are accepting their federal work study or college work aid must complete an employment packet and contract BEFORE beginning a work assigment. The scheduled dates and times to complete this process are:
AUGUST 25 - 27, 2010 9:00 pm - 12:00 pm 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
You must bring (1) a picture ID, AND (2) a copy of your birth certificate or social security card.
You should "ACCEPT" this component of your finanical aid award by August 24, 2010. If you have not completed the employment packet and contract by 5:00 pm, August 27, 2010, your federal work study or college work aid will be CANCELLED and made available to other eligible students.
MVSU NEW STUDENT LOAN PROCESSES
IT'S MANDATORY -- DON'T MISS OUT!
Effective July 1, 2010, Mississippi Valley State University will begin participating and processing all federal student loans through the William D. Ford Loan Program. Student and parent borrowers will receive funding for their federal student and parent loans directly from the U.S. Department of Education rather than from private banks and other lending institutions. To complete entrance counseling and sign your Direct Loan master promissory note, go to www.studentloans.gov.
FEDERAL PELL GRANT AVAILABLE FOR SUMMER 2010
The Federal Pell Grant is available to students for the Summer 2010 sessions/terms. Students will need to complete a 2010 Summer Financial Aid Application. Summer School Applications are currently being processed, award notifications will be mailed beginning May 17, 2010. You may also view your award status on your Banner account at Sutton2.mvsu.edu.
The Office of Student Financial Aid at Mississippi Valley State University is a part of the Division of Student Affairs. The office is responsible for administering financial aid, regardless of source, for all eligible students.
