FRESHMAN ADMISSION
Students interested in attending
• Application for Admission (completed and signed) - No Application Fee Required
• OFFICIAL high school transcript or OFFICIAL General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
• ACT or SAT scores are required of all students.
• At least 15 1/2 units of College Preparatory Curriculum (CPC) must be met

PROOF OF IMMUNIZATION
All students must submit a proof of immunization prior to reporting for registration.
● Two injections for Measles
● One injection for Mumps and Rubella
► Full admission will be granted to the following: (1) All students completing the College Preparatory Curriculum (CPC) with a minimum of a 3.20 high school grade point average (GPA) on the CPC; or
► All students completing the College Preparatory Curriculum (CPC) with a minimum of a 2.50 high school GPA on the CPC or a class rank in the top 50%, and (b) a score of 16 or higher on the ACT (Composite); or
► All students completing the College Preparatory Curriculum (CPC) with a minimum of a 2.00 high school GPA on the CPC and (b) a score of 18 or higher on the ACT (Composite).
► NCAA Division I standards for student athletes who are “full-qualifiers” are accepted as equivalent to the admission standards established by Board.
In lieu of ACT scores, students may submit equivalent SAT scores. Students scoring below 16 on the ACT (Composite) or the equivalent SAT are encouraged to participate in the Year-Long Academic Support Program during their freshmen year.
► Students who have not demonstrated adequate readiness in English or Reading or Mathematics will be granted Full Admission with Academic Deficiencies to the Summer Developmental Program.

TRANSFER STUDENTS
Transfer applicants are students who have attended another college. Any information withheld or falsified may subject a student to dismissal. In order to be admitted, the following REQUIREMENTS must be met.
• Submit official transcripts from all accredited colleges/universities attended.
• Must be in "good academic standing" and eligible to return to the last college/university of attendance.
• Regular transfer student status will be given to all transfer students with a 2.0 and above
*Provisional status is given to transfer students prior to completion of the semester in which they are to enroll when applying.
Transfer evaluations will reflect all grades earned, but only grades of "C" and above will be accepted for credit at
INTERNATIONAL ADMISSIONS
International applicants are students who are admitted, but are not
• Application for admission (completed and signed)
• Affidavit of Sponsorship
• TOEFL Score (minimum score of 450)
• Official high school transcript certifying completion of secondary school
• Medical History form - Immunization Record
The Test of English as a Foreign Language is administered abroad three times per year at established and supplementary testing centers by the Educational Testing Service located in
DUAL ADMISSIONS/DUAL CREDIT PROGRAM
Students may enter
• Obtain at least a 2.5 grade point average on 4.0 scale on all high school courses, as
documented by an official high school transcript;
• A home-schooled student must submit a transcript prepared by a parent, guardian or
custodian with a signed, sworn affidavit to meet the requirement; and
• Recommendation from admission by high school principal or counsel
READMISSION POLICY
Any student not attending school for one regular semester, excluding summer sessions, must reapply for admission. The readmission application and other required items must be submitted to the Office of Admissions. Items needed in order to be readmitted are:
• Application for admission (completed and signed)
• Official transcript from college(s) attended while absent from
OUT-OF-STATE POLICY
Students who are graduates of an accredited high school, or have successfully obtained a General Equivalency Diploma (GED), will be considered for acceptance upon receipt of an application and an official transcript and an ACT Score that meet our admission requirements previously stated. Any student will be considered for acceptance with a composite test score of 18 and above on the ACT or 960 and above on the SAT. In order to register, the student must submit all documents to the appropriate offices.
FINANCIAL AID
The University attempts to assist qualified students who can not afford to attend
• Apply for and be accepted for admission to Mississippi Valley State University Complete the Free
• Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on line at www.fasfa.ed.gov
• The office of Student Financial Aid at MVSU does not input FAFSAs for applicants.

FAFSA on the Web is a free U.S. Department of Education Web site where you can complete a FAFSA online and submit it via the Internet. You can use FAFSA on the Web on a personal computer (PC) or a Macintosh that is equipped with the appropriate version of Netscape. The address for the site is: www.fafsa.ed.gov
Complete by June 1 of each year and turn into the Office of Student Financial Assistance the following documents:
• Financial Aid Data Form
•
• PLUS loan application if the parent is applying for a loan for the student.
• If selected for verification, a copy of the student's and/or parent's tax return (1040, 1040A, or 1040EZ) and a verification worksheet.
• Transfer students and returning students who have attended another university prior to returning to MVSU, must submit an academic transcript to the Office of Student Financial Assistance. This transcript will be reviewed for Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). All transfer students must meet Mississippi Valley’s SAP standards on the last's year's enrollment to receive financial aid.
