National Book Award Finalist to Discuss Latest Book at MVSU, Sept. 4

Deborah Wiles will be visiting Dr. Kathryn Green’s African American History class on Thursday, September 4 at 1 pm in Classroom 3 of the W.A. Butts Social Science Building to discuss her newest book, second in the Sixties Trilogy, Revolution (Scholastic Press, May 2014).

Wiles is the author of picture books and novels for young readers including Each Little Bird That Sings, a National Book Award Finalist, and Countdown, book one of “The Sixties Trilogy: Three Novels of the 1960s for Young Readers.” She teaches and writes from Atlanta, Ga.   Set in 1964 Greenwood, Mississippi, Revolution chronicles events through the experiences of a girl named Sunny.  

MVSU students, staff, and faculty are invited to attend this event.
