MISSISSIPPI VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY TO ANNOUNCE NEW ATHLETIC DIRECTOR

ITTA BENA, MS – Mississippi Valley State University (MVSU) will introduce its new Athletic Director at a press conference scheduled for Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. in the Business Education Building auditorium Room 106.

Earlier this month, the University held on campus interviews for three finalists including Mr. Paul Bryant, who currently serves as the Director of Athletics at Eureka College; Mr. Ashley Robinson, a Valley graduate who currently serves as the Associate Vice President for Athletic Compliance and Academic Advising at Prairie View A&M University; and Mr. William Weidner, former Director of Athletics at the University of Texas Pan American and Weber State University. The press conference will be open to the public and the entire university community.

 

Initially created by the state legislature in 1946 to train teachers for rural and elementary schools in the Mississippi Delta, Mississippi Valley State University is one of eight state supported institutions for higher education in the state of Mississippi’s consortium of Institutions for Higher Learning (IHL). It is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Associations of Colleges and Schools and serves nearly 2,700 students seeking undergraduate and graduate degrees.
