Director of Student-Athlete Academic Services/Senior Women’s Administrator
Commensurate with experience and qualifications
The Director of Student–Athlete Academic Services/Senior Women’s Administrator is responsible for providing academic advising in conjunction with monitoring continuing academic eligibility of student-athletes as outlined by the NCAA; provide day-to-day oversight and supervision of academic tutors to ensure the transition, retention and timely progression toward degree; assists with university process for advising student-athletes, monitor and implement study hall for all sports; serving as the liaison to the Office of Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar, Residential Life, and Career Services; coordinate annual student-athlete orientation for female athletes; administer female student-athlete recognition program; acts as a key spokesperson for the needs and interests of women within the intercollegiate athletics department; strategizes and coordinates ways to support and manage gender equity and Title IX plans and issues; and keeps department of athletics informed of key information and/or changes relevant to Title IX.
Master’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience required; comprehensive (4-7 years) progressive program experience within student-athlete academic services and significant experience (3-5 years) working with a Division I sports teams; demonstrated strong collaborative skills with support units and which enhance the student-athlete experience; experience monitoring social media sites; and experience evaluating initial and continuing athletics eligibility are desired; experience providing programs and services within a student services operation that supports student-athletes’ educational experience and retention; proven experience (1-3 years) in working with student-athletes with academic deficiencies and/or learning disabilities; and other duties as required.
