Job Description:

Discourages criminal activity by crime preventive patrol of campus buildings and grounds; Investigate and take action on complaints and related details as assigned by supervisor; conduct investigations into alleged violations of the State and Federal codes and statutes; apprehends persons when appropriate in accordance with the department’s arrest policy for clear violations of law; investigate motor vehicle accidents occurring on campus; responds to and investigates fire and security alarms; prepares written reports of all crimes, safety hazards and significant incidents observed during duty; responsible for providing security for university campus; responds to calls for escort; safeguarding the physical facility, students, faculty, staff and visitors

Qualifications Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or social or behavioral science field with at least one year of experience in Law Enforcement; must be State certified by the Mississippi Law Enforcement Academy;  must possess excellent moral and ethical character as determined by employment background investigation; Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to analyze situations quickly and objectively to respond appropriately
