Job Description:

Organize and operate an effective NCAA Division I women’s basketball program. Ensure the academic success of women’s basketball student-athletes as a model NCAA DI institution and coordinates academic meetings with the team. Participate in university activities and committees. Take part in professional development and educational activities to stay abreast of new ideas, concepts, and changes that occur in the sport of basketball. Responsible for public relations activities of the program, including working with the media and assisting in fundraising activities; prepare and maintain sport’s budget; prepare sports schedule for approval of the FAR, Associate Director of Athletics and Director of Athletics or designee; recruit and supervise prospective student-athletes; encourage and promote excellence in academics from student athletes; maintain compliance with NCAA sports minimum; supervise arrangements for home and away contests; supervise and evaluate assistant coaches.; monitor activities of assistant coaches and players for rules compliance; keep staff informed of rules and regulations of the NCAA, SWAC, Athletics Department and University; performs other duties as assigned by the Athletics Director.

Qualifications Required :

Bachelor's degree; Master’s degree preferred with at least five years of NCAA Division I basketball coaching experience; experience maintaining a quality NCAA Division I Program; demonstrated solid communication and customer service skills; knowledge of recruitment of student-athletes to include rules and regulations governed by the NCAA; ability to supervise, plan, organize and prioritize objectives; ability to work well with internal and external constituents
