LORMAN, Miss. -- Alia Frank dropped 21 points on Alcorn State on
Saturday, but it wasn't enough to keep the Devilettes from suffering its
first loss since Jan. 21.
The Devilettes (12-11, 9-3 SWAC) fell for the first time in the last six
games despite shooting nearly 50 percent from the field. MVSU hit
18-of-37 shots (48.6 percent) and converted 21 of 34 free throws.
Kiara Ruffin was one of two Lady Braves to score in double-figures with
15 points. Tiffany Stewart chipped in 14 for Alcorn (8-15, 6-5 SWAC).
Valley fell by just four points despite getting off 26 less shots than the Lady Braves.
Davina Jefferson had nine points for Valley while Brittney Lakes and Khristina Clemons put up eight each.
MVSU travels to Southern on Monday for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff.
