Devilettes fall at Prairie View

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas -- Mississippi Valley State's three-game win streak came to an end Saturday following a 61-56 loss at Prairie View.

The Devilettes (7-10, 4-2 SWAC) now sit in third place in the SWAC and will face Texas Southern (3-13, 2-4 SWAC) on Monday at 5:30 p.m. in Houston, Texas.

Alia Frank and Brittney Lakes led the Devilettes with 14 points apiece. Lakes went 7-of-11 from the field while Frank went 6-of-10 from the free throw line.

MVSU's Ka'Neisha Smith contributed eight points and six rebounds while Davina Jefferson chipped in six points.

Latia Williams led Prairie View with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

The Devilettes shot 30.9 percent and finished 10-of-20 (50 percent) from the charity stripe. MVSU forced Prairie View to commit 28 turnovers.
