Late-game free throws push ASU past Devilettes

MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The Devilettes of Mississippi Valley State witnessed their two-game win streak come to a halt Saturday after a 65-62 loss at Alabama State.

The Lady Hornets (5-8, 1-1 SWAC) converted three free throws in the final 43 seconds to get their second conference win of the season. MVSU (4-9, 1-1 SWAC) suffered its first conference loss of the season following two blowout wins to start the new year.

Alia Frank led the Devilettes with a game-high 13 points while Brittney Lakes and Lenise Stallings chipped in 10 points apiece.

MVSU travels to Alabama A&M on Monday for a 3 p.m. tipoff.
