Itta Bena, Miss. --- It took five hard fought sets to do it but the Mississippi Valley State Devilettes volleyball team emerged victorious, 3-2, over the Lady Hornets of Alabama State.

Maura Moed paved the way for the Devilettes with 11 kills, 6 servers ace, and five blocks.  Kantessa Bryant and Porsha Cummings had nine kills each with Cummings adding nine digs.  Chelsey White recorded 40 assists.

For the Lady Hornets Shajuana Pina led all with 17 kills.  Jessica Holt had 11 kills, while Anna Meinert added 10 kills and three digs.

The Devilettes will return to action this Thursday when they play host to Loyola University.
