Douglas Returns to Valley as Head Coach

Itta Bena, Miss.--- Danielle Douglas has been named the new Women’s Cross Country and Track and Field head coach at Mississippi Valley State University.  Douglas makes her return to MVSU after serving as assistant and finally interim head Women’s Cross Country and Track and Field Coach from 2005-2007.                                 

A Magna Cum Laude graduate of Mississippi Valley State Douglas received her bachelor of science in criminal justice in 2004 and her master of science in criminal justice in 2007.

During her previous stint at Valley she coached seven players that would be named All-SWAC in indoor Track and Field and nine in outdoor Track and Field.

A native of Memphis, Tenn. Douglas was a standout trackster at MVSU where she was named Women’s Student Athlete of the Year (2002), Track and Field Scholar Athlete (2002, 2003 and 2004), All-American in Mississippi Sports and Colleges (2003), All-SWAC in Long Jump and Women’s Indoor Track and Field MVP (2003).
