MVSU stays undefeated in conference

NORMAL, Ala. -- The wins keep piling up for Mississippi Valley State.

The Delta Devils (4-11, 3-0 SWAC) used a balance offensive attack Monday to scoot by Alabama A&M, 81-69. It was their third straight victory. Five MVSU players scored in double-figures, led by Falando Jones' 18 points.

The win keeps Valley atop the SWAC rankings while the Bulldogs fell to 3-10 (1-3 SWAC).

The Delta Devils hit 29 of 60 shots (48.3 percent) while knocking down 18 of 30 free throws.

Amos Studivant recorded his second double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds for Valley while Terrence Joyner put up 16 points. Joyner has scored in double-figures in 13 out of 15 games.

Cor-J Cox scored 15 points off the bench while Kevin Burwell had a season-high 15 points.

Green Hill led the Bulldogs with 17 points.

MVSU returns to action Saturday at home against Alcorn State at 4:30 p.m. on Greek Night. Fraternity and sorority members at the game are asked to wear their respective organizations t-shirts.
