The cross country teams at MVSU opened their 2010 campaigns with strong finishes at the 2010 MC Season Opener held September 1 in Clinton, Mississippi.
The men's team placed second with three top-ten finishes. Victor Bii led all MVSU runners with a time of 16:07.40 (2nd overall). Hezron Chepkwone was third overall with a mark of 16:30.29 while Robert Hernandez finished sixth with a time of 16:54.77. Victor Kiplaget finished 14th in a time of 17:40.25 while David Pullium (21st - 18:15.65) and Myron Lott (25th - 18:41.52) each finished in the top 25.
In the women's race, the team took fourth with three top-five finishes. Joyce Chumo led all runners with a time of 15:01.26. Winny Tauni was third with a mark of 16:24.24 while Irene Cherubet was fifth with a time of 16:27.35. Jodian Burke finished 30th while Jovanna Peterson was 44th.
