The Mississippi Valley State baseball program placed three members o the team on the 2011 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) All-Conference Team as the honors were announced during day one of the 2011 SWAC Baseball Tournament held in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Third baseman Scott Hornstra and shortstop Jerry Hildreth were named to the first team while outfielder Michael Lowe received all-league honors being named to the second team.
Hornstra (6-1, 190, Jr., Rocky Mountain House, Alberta) was the team leader in batting average (.345), slugging percentage (.605), hits (61), runs batted in (49), doubles (22), home runs (6) and total bases (107). Hornstra was also second on the team in on-base percentage (.425), second in triples (3), third in runs scored (35) and fifth in stolen bases (11).
Hildreth (5-6, 160, Sr., Johnstown, Colorado) was a first-team selection in 2010. He led the team this season in stolen bases (24) and runs scored (44). He finished the season with a .272 batting average, a .379 on-base percentage, 49 hits, 24 runs batted in, eight doubles, two triples and 22 walks drawn.
Lowe (6-0, 195, Jr., Beaverton, Ore.) was first in on-base percentage (.438), triples (6), and walks drawn (30) while finishing second on the team in batting average (.305), hits (51), runs scored (39), stolen bases (21) and third in slugging percentage (.413).
