First Year Experience
Mission
The principal goal of the First Year Experience (FYE) is to enhance first year and transfer students’ academic performance.
The program is designed to effectively assist first year and transfer students in adjusting to college life and establishing skills that will lead to academic success as well as rewarding careers.
Emphasis for students will be on personal growth, academic success, informed career choices, and community service.
The five goals which will shape this paradigm are:
To enhance students’ academic performance
To develop a strategic plan for personal and interpersonal development and community service
To identify pre-professional skills and information needed when declaring a major and selecting a career
To create an awareness of the University
To create an awareness of researching information for personal and pre-professional growth
