The primary goal of the Disability services office is to comply with the requirement of the Americans with Disabiliites Act of 1990. The ADA coordinator works with all segments of the campus body to make the learning and work environment at MVSU as accessible and as supportive as possible for learning disabled and physically challenged students, faculty, and staff.
How to apply
Students seeking accommodations from Mississippi Valley State University on the basis of a disability must identify themselves to the ADA Coordinator. Students must provide appropriate documentation of their disability to verify eligibility under section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disability Act of 1990. Documentation may also be provided for: Specific Learning Disability, Attention Defect Disorder (ADD), Attention Defect Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), Psychiatric, or Psychological Disorder.

Students Responsibilities:
After becoming a documented disabled student at Mississippi Valley State University, it is the student's responsibility to:
Make accommodation request in a timely manner (prior to enrollment is encouraged)
Submit a copy of the needed accommodation to each of the Faculty/Staff members from whom the service is needed.
Meet and maintain the academic requirement of the University
