Dr. Mary L. Shepherd, Assistant Professor

Dr. Shepherd is an Assistant Professor of Management who brings both practitioner and academic knowledge into the classroom. She teaches in Business Administration. Her research interests include leadership development of minority females. Dr. Shepherd’s current teaching responsibilities include human resource management, leadership skills development, diversity in leadership, international business, and principles of marketing. Dr. Shepherd’s practitioner knowledge is derived from her previous positions as Director of Operations at the B.B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center, District Supervisor at Double Quick, Inc., and Accounts Receivable Supervisor at Delta Pride Catfish, Inc. She believes that the most important task an educator has is to thoroughly prepare students for their journey into the professional workplace.
