PRAXIS STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES
Praxis Lab
Students will have access to a computer lab that is designed specifically for tutorial sessions dealing with subject based issues found on Praxis I & II.
Praxis Achievement Institute
These series of workshops, conducted on Saturday’s are designed to assist students in address subject area issues found on Praxis I & II. This service is FREE to all students enrolled at MVSU and the Tom Joyner Foundation Scholarship. All non-enrolled persons interested in this workshop series will be charged a fee of $75 per workshop.
Fee Waiver
Students who will be taking the Praxis for the first time may be eligible for a fee waiver. This waiver is for one of the three tests on Praxis I. Please visit www.ets.org/praxis to download the form.
Tom Joyner Foundation Scholarship
The Foundation and NEA are offering financial assistance and professional development assistance to help teachers who are working under provisional certification and teacher candidates.
Assistance is offered in the following areas:
- Tuition
- Books
- Support for preparing to take a state teacher licensure examination
To be eligible for this program you must be currently employed as a teacher in a K-12 public school, or currently enrolled in an accredited school of education. Scholarship winners must commit to teach a minimum of three years in identified communities, to be locally determined.
