Praxis Exam Program Requirements

Which Tests should I take?

Freshmen are encouraged to take the Praxis I exam as soon as possible.  Praxis exams are offered by ETSa and may be taken at MVSU on scheuled testing dates, or may be taken in Jackson at the Sylvan Learning Center at any time. 

Passing Praxis I is required for admission to Teacher Education. 

Undergraduate/Initial Program

Students who plan to enroll in the undergraduate Teacher Education program must take and pass the Pre-Professional Skills Test (Praxis I) PPST Reading, PPST Writing, and PPST Math exam. PRAXIS I scores are a requirement for admission into a Teacher Education Program.

Prior to Student Teaching, undergraduate Teacher Education candidates are required to submit passing PLT (Principles of Learning and Teaching) scores and Praxis II or Specialty Area Test scores.
