Why English and Foreign Languages?

Whether your goal is to become a university professor, a high school English teacher, a presidential speech writer, a fiction writer or a poet, the Department of English and Foreign Languages at Mississippi Valley State University has a curriculum required to transfer students into communicators of the twenty-first century.

Our majors participate in the Study Abroad Programs through intensive language learning in Costa Rica. They also explore the possibilities of study abroad through learning the critical languages: Arabic, Chinese, and Russian which are taught by the Fulbright instructors.
